Working with People and Communities: VCSE and Community Funding Opportunities

Reducing health inequalities is a core priority for NHS Sussex and our partners. We know this cannot be achieved by the NHS alone. It requires system leadership and commitment, strong relationships, community leadership, trust and crucially insight from people and communities who experience the greatest barriers to health and wellbeing.

This grants programme aims to support VCSE organisations who can help us better reach, listen to, and work with people we hear from least. The ambition is to build sustainable, trusted ways of hearing from marginalised groups and move beyond collecting insight to acting on what communities tell us. We expect communities to be involved not only in sharing insight, but in shaping priorities, methods and recommendations.

Many communities have told us they are tired of sharing insight without seeing change. NHS Sussex is committed to doing this differently by ensuring community insight is tracked, shared with the right decision-makers, and visibly acted on, with clear feedback to communities about progress and impact.
