We want to hear from young people with epilepsy about services and support in Sussex
PLEASE NOTE: due to low numbers this session will not be running on Tuesday 18th March. If you would like to be notified of a new date, please register below for updates.
Register to join this free creative event for young people aged 11 -16: time and date TBC.
You’ll hear from NHS Sussex about work being done to improve local epilepsy services, and discuss your thoughts on what’s working, and what could be done differently. You can also get lifestyle and wellbeing tips from an epilepsy specialist.
A creative facilitator will help capture your views using art. We’re interested in how you feel about:
- The impact of having epilepsy on your mental health
- Advice on managing your epilepsy and making decisions
- The move from children’s to adult epilepsy services
….and anything else you would like to share!
The session will be relaxed and welcoming, with snacks and drinks provided. We will reimburse travel expenses up to £10 (we’ll explain how to claim this on the day) and enter you into a draw to win a voucher to say thanks.
There’s room for parents bringing young people if they wish to stay, and they are welcome to share your thoughts separately.
If you have any questions about the event, or can’t make it but would like to share your views in another way, please email us at sxicb.cyp-voice@nhs.net
Please register for more information and to secure your place. You must live in Sussex, or use epilepsy services in Sussex, and be aged 11 to 16 to join this session.
Once you’ve signed up, we’ll contact you via email with a short consent form for the young person and their parent to sign, and ask whether there are any adjustments we can make to make sure you can take part and enjoy the session. Only young people who have returned the signed forms will be able to attend the event, due to safeguarding.
